Picture¶
The picture widget shows a static image on a dashboard page. You can upload an image file or enter an image address, and configure what happens when the image is selected.
Note
The picture widget uses no data source, so the Data and Filter tabs of the configuration panel have no effect.
For common configuration such as the title and background, see Common Configurations for Charts.
Style of Picture¶
Type¶
Type determines the source of the image. Upload by default:
Upload: Uploads an image from your computer. The file is stored on the DTV server and does not depend on an external address.
URL: Enter the network address of the image, which the widget loads at runtime.
Only the matching item is shown below: Upload shows File, and URL shows URL.
File¶
Shown only when Type is Upload. Select Upload to choose a local image, with at most 1 image. Uploading again replaces the existing image.
URL¶
Shown only when Type is URL. Enter the full network address of the image.
Image Style¶
Image Style controls how the image is scaled within the widget. Stretch by default:
Stretch: Stretches the width and height independently to fill the widget, without keeping the original ratio. Suits background images.
Fit: Scales the image keeping its original aspect ratio so that it is fully visible within the widget, leaving any spare space empty.
Alignment¶
Alignment determines the anchor position of the image within the widget. Options are Align Center (default), Align Top Left, and Align Bottom Right.
Note
When Image Style is Stretch, the image already fills the widget and alignment has no visible effect. The item is shown under both image styles and is never hidden.
Repeat¶
When selected, the image is tiled to fill the whole widget area, which suits textures and patterns. Cleared by default.
Image Jump¶
Select Interaction Settings to configure the jump or linkage behavior on click in the dialog box. For the configuration method, see Common Configurations for Charts > Interaction Settings.
Interactions at Runtime¶
The widget provides the following behaviors at runtime, with no configuration needed:
Mouse pointer: Once Image Jump is configured, the pointer becomes a hand when hovering over the image to indicate that it is clickable.
Loading state: The image is shown only once it finishes loading; if loading fails, the widget area stays blank.
Note
The Basic tab of the picture widget provides neither Widget Padding, Show Tooltip, nor Export Widget Data, and the widget does not support style copying.
