DTV Page Permission Overview¶
To ensure permission isolation between different folders and users, DTV provides a set of permission management mechanisms. This article is intended for application developers and explains how to obtain permissions from administrators in the configuration state, and how to manage page permissions in the runtime state.
Configuration State Permissions¶
In the configuration state, DTV uses Groups to distinguish domains, and Folders to isolate different types of pages and templates. DTV defines these folders and groups as Resources. You can manage users’ permissions by assigning resources. Their relationships are as follows:
DTV Operation Management¶
DTV Operation Management permission refers to having access to pages such as DTV Center > Basic Information/Import/Export/Audit Records, being able to create and manage all groups, folders, templates, and pages within the OU, import and export folders and pages, and view import logs within the OU.
If needed, contact the OU administrator to obtain the DTV Operation Management permission point in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Managing Group Resources¶
Group resource management refers to having access to view and manage the folders, templates, and pages within a group.
To manage group resource permissions, contact the OU administrator to assign the Group resource to the account in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Managing Folder Resources¶
Folder resource management refers to having access to view and manage the pages or templates within a folder. Folders are divided into:
Page folders
Template folders
To manage folder resource permissions, contact the OU administrator to assign the Page Folder or Template Folder resource to the account in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Using External Data Sources¶
All users within the OU can create external data sources. Once created, the data source is limited to use by the current user. You can request the external data source resource, and once assigned, the external data source can be used in widgets.
To obtain permission for an external data source, contact the OU administrator to assign the External Data Source resource to the account in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Runtime Permissions¶
In the runtime state, you can decide the organization structure displayed in the application, manage the organization structure visible to users, and assign permissions for online page editing.
Displayed Organization Structure¶
To display a specific organization structure on a page, contact the OU administrator to assign an organization structure to the application the page belongs to, in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Accessible Organization Structure¶
The organization structure is a hierarchical structure of groups, regions, and sites. When a user has permission for a node, the user can view the resources on that node within the application.
Contact the OU administrator to assign resources to the roles that users belong to, in the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console. Users can then view the resources within the application.
Online Page Editing¶
Online editing allows users to configure the page online, based on the original page content, while viewing the page. This includes adjusting the layout of page widgets and moving widgets into the Hidden Box.
Follow these steps to assign online page editing permission to users:
In the Application Registration menu of the Developer Console, create the Online Page Editing permission point for the application used by the user.
Contact the OU administrator to assign this permission point to the account’s role, in the Roles menu of the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Online Widget Editing¶
Online editing allows users to configure and delete widgets in the page online, based on the original page content, while viewing the page.
Follow these steps to assign online widget editing permission to users:
In the Application Registration menu of the Developer Console, create the Online Widget Editing permission point for the application used by the user.
Contact the OU administrator to assign this permission point to the account’s role, in the Roles menu of the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Saving Online Edits to OU Templates¶
By default, when a user saves online edits, the content is saved as My Template. The next time online editing occurs, the user can re-edit the personal template or revert to the standard template. When the user reopens the page, they will see the page updated according to the personal template; other users cannot view the page under the personal template.
If a user needs to save the online edits as an OU Template, so that users with online editing permission within the OU can jointly view and edit it, follow these steps to assign permission to the user:
In the Application Registration menu of the Developer Console, create the Online Update OU Template permission point for the application used by the user.
Contact the OU administrator to assign this permission point to the account’s role, in the Roles menu of the EnOS Application Portal Admin Console.
Once assigned, users can save online edits as an OU template. Other users within the OU who have online editing permission can view and edit this template. In addition, the page can be set as the default view within the OU.
