Configuring Charting Tool


This page describes how application creators configure Charting Tool to build asset data charts.

Prerequisites


Before you start, make sure that:

  • You have been assigned with the required asset permissions, operational permissions, and a menu group containing the Charting Tool page. If not assigned, contact your application administrators.
  • You have registered the attributes, measurement points, and metrics of target assets in Common Data Service (CDS). For more information, see About EnOS Common Data Service.

Configuring Page Functions


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.

    Note

    The menu name in your applications might be different from the name in this article, because of the customization on menu names for Unified Monitoring pages. Contact the application administrator for more information.

  2. Select Function Configuration i_function in the Charting Tool page.

  3. Select the Basic Settings tab and configure the following information.


    Field Description Example
    Modify Query Conditions Allow application users to modify the chart configuration. Enable this function, and application users can perform operations in Configuring Charts.
    Template Allow application users to apply chart templates. Once enabled, you can select Card or Drop-down template panel style. For more information about chart templates, see Managing Chart Templates.


  4. Select the Asset Settings tab and configure the following information.


    Field Description Example
    Asset Dimension Specify the asset dimensions supported in Charting Tool. For more information about chart scope, see Configuring Charts.
    Asset Type Specify the asset type supported in Charting Tool. If you select multiple asset types, you can drag the sorting icon on the left of each asset type to sort the display order. For example, to show wind, hydro, and solar sites in turn, you can select Wind, Hydro and Solar from the dropdown list, and adjust the display order to Wind-Hydro-Solar in the Asset Type list.
    Asset Tree Style Specify the style of asset trees in device filters and the Select Assets section when configuring charts, including By Hierarchy or By List. If you select both, a style switching button appears in device filters and the Select Assets section. By Hierarchy inherits the hierarchical structure of Organization Structure in Application Portal, and By List displays the devices in the site by asset type.
    Asset Filter Display the asset filter in the Charting Tool page when the Chart Range is Device. Enable this function, and application users can use site filters, device type filters, and device filters to select the assets displayed in the chart.   5. Select the Time Settings tab, and configure the following information.


    Field Description Example
    Comparison Filter Allow users display comparison data when configuring charts or filtering chart data. For more information about configuring the comparison data, see Configuring Charts.


  6. Select the Data Settings tab, and configure the following information.



  7. Select Publish. In the popup window, enter the description on the Remark text box, and select OK.

Configuring Charts


You can create time series charts based on the measurement point or metric data of assets in the specified sites or site groups during a specific time period. Configure the information such as asset, data field, and time period of the Charting Tool by the following steps:

  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.

  2. Select More to open the configuration popup window in the Charting Tool page.

  3. Select the following scope in the Chart Scope section.


    Chart Scope Description
    Site Group Analyze the time series data of the devices in above-site asset hierarchy layers such as group and region.
    Site Analyze the time series data of the devices in the specified sites.
    Device Analyze the time series data of the specified devices.


  4. Select the assets displayed on the chart in the Select Assets section.

  5. Select the data fields, including measurement points and metrics, displayed on the chart in the Select Data section.

  6. Configure the following information in the Select Display Style section.


    Field Description
    Interpolate Values Interpolate based on the data of the last time point if there is no data for a data field on specified time point.
    Decimal Places Select the decimal places of the data displayed on the chart, supporting 1-10 or Original.
    Chart Style Select the style for data fields, supporting Line Chart and Bar Chart.
    Color Select the color for data fields displayed on the chart.


  7. Configure the following information in the Select Time Period section.


    Field Description
    Time Interval Specify the time interval for data fields in the chart, supporting raw, 1m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 30m, H, L, D, W, M, Q, and T.
    You can only choose the intervals supported by all selected data fields. For more information on the time interval in Common Data Service, see Registering a Virtual Measurement Point and Registering a Source Metric.
    Comparison Display the data of the last cycle of data fields, supporting Day-over-Day for daily comparison, Month-over-Month for monthly comparison, and Year-over-Year for annual comparison.
    Time Range Select the start time and end time of the data fields in the chart.


  8. Select Apply.


Managing Chart Templates


The templates of Charting Tool contains multiple configuration items such as:

  • Asset dimension and asset type
  • Object and data field
  • Chart style
  • Time interval and time range
  • Custom analysis items

Saving or Updating a Template


Save the current report configuration as a template or update the configuration of an existing template by the following steps:

  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.

  2. Hover over the setting button i_setting and select Save Template from the dropdown list.

  3. Enter the following information on the popup window.


    Field Description
    Template Name Enter the name of the template.
    Template Description Enter the description of the template.
    Template Category Select a category to which the template belongs.
    Save Time Interval and Scope Save the current configuration of time interval and time scope into the template.
    Save as OU Default View Display the template as the Metric Inquiry Report when opening the Common KPI Inquiry page.


  4. Select OK.

Saving the Modified Template as a New Template


If you have applied a template to the current page and modified the template configuration, save the modified template as a new template by the following steps:

  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.

  2. Hover over the setting button i_setting and select Save as Template from the dropdown list.

  3. Enter the following information on the popup window.


    Field Description
    Template Name Enter the name of the template.
    Template Description Enter the description of the template.
    Template Category Select a category to which the template belongs.
    Save Time Interval and Scope Save the current configuration of time interval and time scope into the template.
    Save as OU Default View Display the template as the Metric Inquiry Report when opening the Common KPI Inquiry page.


  4. Select OK.

Editing a Template


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Hover over the card of the target template and select the edit icon i_edit_t.
  4. Edit the name, description, and category of the template in the popup window and select OK.


Deleting a Template


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Hover over the card of the target template and select the delete icon i_remove.
  4. Select OK in the popup window.

Managing Template Categories


You can use template categories to classify and manage templates according to information such as scenarios, objects, and time range.

Creating a Category


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Select the edit icon i_pen to open the Category Configuration popup window.
  4. Select Add and enter a category name. After you create a category, you can add the template to a template category when Saving or Updating a Template, Saving the Modified Template as a New Template or Editing a Template.

Editing a Category


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Select the edit icon i_pen to open the category configuration popup window.
  4. Select the Template Category tab and edit the template name.

Sorting Categories


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Select the edit icon i_pen to open the category configuration popup window.
  4. Drag the sorting icon next to the Category tab to edit the display order of each category in the template panel.

Deleting a Category


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. Select the edit icon i_pen to open the category configuration popup window.
  4. Select the delete icon i_x to the right of the Category tab.

Restoring History Versions


You can view the information about history versions such as version numbers, the users to publish versions, the publishing time of versions, and publishing remarks.If you want to use a history version of Charting Tool, restore the version by the following steps:

  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Function Configuration i_function in the Charting Tool page.
  3. Select History Version to open the history version list.
  4. Locate the target history version and select Restore.
  5. Select OK in the popup window.

Importing or Exporting Pages


You can export the following contents of Charting Tool in JSON format and import the JSON file to migrate and reuse the configured page:

  • Page function configuration
  • Asset and data field configuration

Exporting Page Configuration


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Function Configuration i_function in the Charting Tool page.
  3. Select Import/Export > Export, and the configuration file will be downloaded automatically.

Importing Page Configuration


  1. Select Charting Tool from the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Function Configuration i_function in the Charting Tool page.
  3. Select Import/Export > Import.
  4. Upload the configuration file in the popup window and select OK.

Configuring URL Parameters
