Quickstart¶
This document is designed to help you better understand how to use the capabilities of the EOC through a reality-based O&M scenario. Now we will use the host as an example to implement the whole process of asset creation to monitoring.
Prerequisites¶
The EnOS Enterprise Operations Center (EOC) can be used for management of assets, alerts, etc. based on the following assumptions.
You already have a personal account with EOC to access.
Make sure your account has full access to assets, alerts, etc.
For more information about applying for a system account and assigning permissions, see Account Opening and Permission Assignment.
Step 1: Request VM¶
Log in to the EOC and select Assets > Hosts from the left navigation bar.
Click Request VM on the hosting page.
On the request VM page, follow the page guide to complete the basic information and specification of the host, and click Submit. When submitted, a ticket will be generated and the newly created host can be viewed in the host list after the ticket is approved.
See Requesting VM for more information.
Step 2: Set up Receiver Groups¶
You need to preset the receiver groups before you receive the alert notification for anomaly notification.
Log in to the EOC and select Alerts > Receiver Groups from the left navigation bar.
Click New Group on the receiver groups page.
On the new group page, enter a group name, description and assign members, and then click Submit.
See Creating Receiver Groups for more information.
Step 3: New Alert Rules¶
For some important metrics you need to create alert rules so that you can be notified of anomalies and troubleshoot them quickly.
Log in to the EOC and select Alerts > Alert Rules > Hosts from the left navigation bar.
Click New Rule on the host alert rules page.
On the new host alert rules page, follow the page guide to complete the configuration of the host alert rule information, and click Submit.
See Creating Alert Rules for more information.
Step 4: Receive Alert notificationsN¶
When the system detects that the created alert rule is triggered, it will generate alert events and send alert notifications to the pre-set receiver group by SMS, email, etc.
Step 5: View Alert Events¶
Log in to the EOC and select Alerts > Alert Events from the left navigation bar.
On the alert event page, select the corresponding alert event to view the event details and process the corresponding plan according to the alert rules.
See Managing Alert Events for more information.
