Target Users¶
EnOS Onboarding Tool primarily serves the following roles.
Asset Administrators¶
Asset administrators are responsible for onboarding assets and designing asset topologies according to the business scenario, as well as mapping measurement points and states for devices, configuring business information, and adding business tags.
Application Administrators¶
Application administrators are responsible for managing users and permissions for menus, assets, and operations within the OU. Before using Onboarding Tool, asset administrators must contact application administrators to obtain the required permissions.
First, application administrators assign a role to the asset administrator’s account, and then assign the appropriate menu group to the role, so that asset administrators can access the appropriate menus. In addition, application administrators must assign the permissions and onboarding processes to the role, so that the asset administrators can perform appropriate operations.
Application administrators have the rights to assign the following:
Roles: after the application administrator assigns a role to the user account, the user account obtains the permissions corresponding to the role.
Menu groups: after the application administrator assigns a menu group to the user account’s role, the user account can only access menu pages that contain a specific menu included in the menu group.
Permissions: Onboarding Tool has preset permission points for onboarding and managing assets and their topological structures. The application administrators must assign permission points to user accounts before users can perform the appropriate operations.
Onboarding processes: after the application administrator assigns a specific onboarding step permission to the user account role, the user can perform the corresponding onboarding operation. For more information, see Assigning Onboarding Processes.
In addition, application administrators can limit the following permissions on Site Onboarding page of this OU:
Import sites by grouping: when the Import Sites by Grouping option is enabled, asset administrators can import sites by predefined groups on Site Onboarding page, sharing some data across sites. If this option is disabled, sites can only be imported individually. For more information, see Importing Sites by Grouping.
Site Access: when the Limit Site Access is enabled, asset administrators can view only those sites on Site Onboarding page for which accounts have restricted asset permissions from EnOS Application Portal. If this option is disabled, asset administrators can view all sites on Site Onboarding page within the OU. For more information, see Assigning Asset Permissions.
