State Mapping


State mapping refers to mapping the states of various devices and the values of fault-type measurement points to specific categories under the necessary allocation type, which is a key step in the delivery process of wind power projects. The mapping results can be exported to an Excel file, which can be directly used in subsequent device state calculation, alarm categorization, downtime record calculation, and availability calculation.


The state mapping page provides a state list, through which you can view state data, including standard state data and mapping relationships. For more information, see Exploring State Mapping Page.


State mapping can be done through the following two methods:

  • Automatic mapping: accurate or fuzzy matching of standard states using fields such as state description.

  • Manual mapping: used to improve the results of automatic mapping, and allows you to select any standard state to map to the source state.

Prerequisites


  • Ensure that your account has access to State Mapping menu. Contact the application administrator if necessary.

  • Ensure that the manufacturerss and model No.s No.s of the required devices/components are configured in the current OU.

Creating a State Mapping Task


To create a state mapping task, you need to import an Excel file of source states, perform automatic or manual mapping on the source state, and then export the mapping result, download the export file, and finish the state mapping.

Step 1: Importing a Data File


  1. Select State Mapping in the left navigation bar.

  2. Select the desired device type. Currently only Wind Turbine type is supported.

  3. Select Map State to go to the State Mapping Workbench page.

  4. On the State Mapping Workbench page, select New Mapping Task.

  5. In the pop-up, enter Task Name, select Download Template, fill in the Excel template and upload the file. Based on business requirements in the wind industry, state allocation types for devices are divided into two types, SC Code and OEM State, which correspond to SC Fault Code and Wind Turbine State lists in the template file.

    • SC Code Mapping: Map the fault states of the wind turbine to standard states such as engine room over-acceleration, communication interruption, uneven flow, undervoltage, and so on.

    • OEM State Mapping: Map the general states of the wind to standard states such as initialization, standby, startup, maintenance, self-inspection, and so on.

  6. After filling in the Excel table as required, upload the file and select Import. After the import is successful, the mapping task is created.


After the import is successful, the task will appear in the latest column of the mapping task list on the current page, and display the quantities of All Mappings, Mapped, and Unmapped. The number is the sum of the number of mappings for SC Code and OEM State.

Step 2: Mapping States Automatically and Manually


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select the Map btn_map corresponding to the task.

  4. Proceed through SC Code Mapping and OEM State Mapping pages, and then select Auto Map.

  5. After automatic mapping, data may appear in the following 3 statues:

    • Exact Mapping: the source state exactly matches the standard state, which is updated in Mapped list. You can edit the mapping on Mapped tab. For how to edit mapped items, see Editing Mapped Results.

    • Fuzzy Mapping: the source state partially matches the standard state, and is still in Unmapped list with Fuzzy Mapped tag, meaning it requires manual mapping for further confirmation.

    • Unmapped: the source state does not match the standard state at all, and is still in the Unmapped list. Manually mapping is required.

  6. In Unmapped list, select Manual Mapping.

  7. In the manual mapping pop-up, select a standard state and select OK to complete manual mapping.

You can continue to complete all unmapped items through manual mapping. Items that are successfully mapped manually will be updated in Mapped list.

Step 3: Exporting Mapping Results


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select Export Mapping Result corresponding to the mapping task.

  4. Enter PLC Version Number in the pop-up.


    Note

    The PLC version number on the left is from the imported Excel file. It is only used to distinguish multiple versions and has no business meaning. The PLC version number entered on the right side has a business meaning and will be verified when input, used as a search field in the subsequent state calculation, alarm categorization, and other tasks.


  5. Select File Format for export, currently only .xlsx is supported.

  6. Select Export to finish exporting the mapping results.

Step 4: Downloading Export Files


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select Download Export File corresponding to the mapping task.

  4. Select Download Export File btn_download corresponding to the exported mapping result in the pop-up to complete the download. Only the last 10 export results are kept.

Managing Mapping Task


You can modify and remove mapping results and delete mapping tasks.

Editing Mapped Results


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select Map btn_map corresponding to the task, go to SC Code Mapping or OEM State tab, and open Mapped list.

  4. Select Edit Mapping btn_edit corresponding to the mapped item.

  5. In the edit mapping pop-up, select a standard state, and then select OK to complete mapping editing.

Remove Mapping Results


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select Map btn_map corresponding to the task, go to SC Code Mapping or OEM State tab, and open Mapped list.

  4. Select Remove Mapping btn_remove for the mapped item.

  5. After the second confirmation, the removal of the mapped item is complete.

The removed item will reappear in Unmapped list.

Deleting Mapping Tasks


  1. Select State Mapping page in the left navigation bar, and then select Wind Turbine tab.

  2. Select Map State to enter the state mapping workbench.

  3. Select Delete btn_delete corresponding to the mapping task.

  4. After the second confirmation, the deletion of the mapping task is complete.


Note

After deleting a mapping task, the state mapping relationships in the task will also be removed.
