Unit 3: Configuring OU Templates

OU templates consolidate the business objects (such as site types, node types, device types, component types, manufacturers, and dimensions) and business rules available for the OU. You can onboard assets quickly and securely by using OU templates to invoke the required data, rules, and processes.

Application creators need to prepare OU templates by following these steps:

  1. Based on the assets to be connected, decide a list of required business objects and business rules, including dimensions, site/node/device types, manufacturers, and topology rules.
  2. Contact the system administrator to configure the required business objects and business rules, and assign them to the OU template in the current OU.
  3. (Optional) If the application uses a private model, contact the system administrator to associate business objects to the private model.
