Offline Configuration

You can perform the following operations when there is weak or no connectivity with the EnOS Edge offline configuration function.

  • Use the offline asset configuration tool
  • Debug communication protocols and network
  • Load configurations to EnOS Edge

Offline Asset Configuration Tool

With a weak or disconnected network, it will be hard connecting to the EnOS Management Console to manage assets, applications, and identity and access. The offline asset configuration tool can solve this by enabling you to acces the same EnOS Cloud functions listed below on EnOS Edge.

  • Model management
  • Device management
  • Asset tree management
  • Alert management
  • Edge management
  • Application registration
  • Identity and access management

Debugging Communication Protocols and Network

With the local debugging tool, you can debug the communication protocols and network that has weak or no connectivity, which covers the following functions.

  • Showing the current connections and devices under EnOS Edge, including Ethernet connections and serial port connections as well as the devices under these two connections.
  • Debugging the communication protocols, where you can view the reported original messages, the parsed data, and the protocol logs.
  • Debugging the network, including using the ping command to view network connectivity, viewing the local IP and TCP connections, and using the Telnet command.

For more details about debugging communication protocols and network, see Testing Communications

Loading Configurations to EnOS Edge

You can export the relevant configurations of EnOS Edge and the sub-devices as a file on the EnOS Management Console, and then use the local configuration loading tool to load the configurations onto EnOS Edge. After loading the configurations, EnOS Edge will restart and the new configurations will take effect.

For more information on loading local configurations, see Loading Local Configuration.
