Asset Tree Management¶
With asset tree management, you can manage the hierarchy of the sub-devices of an EnOS Edge.
The asset tree of an EnOS Edge is different from that of EnOS Cloud. EnOS Cloud asset trees display the hierarchy of all assets in the OU, which can have multiple asset trees. The asset trees of an Edge focuses on only the sub-devices of the Edge. Devices other than the sub-devices of the Edge will not be displayed.
Functions¶
Truncating the asset tree of EnOS Cloud so that only the sub-devices of the specific Edge is displayed.
Searching capability so that users can locate a specific device with either its asset name or ID.
Integrating the model, asset, and asset tree management of EnOS Cloud so that users can easily switch and view related information.
Truncating Logic¶
The logic of how an EnOS Cloud asset tree is truncated to an EnOS Edge asset tree is as per the below.
The asset tree management function of an EnOS Edge traverses all the asset trees of EnOS Cloud. If no sub-devices of the Edge is in those trees, the entire tree will not be used.
If an EnOS Cloud asset tree includes a sub-device of the Edge, this asset tree will be truncated: all nodes with devices that are not the Edge’s sub-devices will be removed.
Procedure¶
You can manage the edge and its sub-devices under the Asset Tree tab in the Edge Detail page. For related concepts and tasks, see Managing Asset Tree.
Note
The asset trees displayed in Edge Detail are different from the ones displayed in IoT Hub > Asset Tree. The former are asset trees with nodes that have the sub-devices of the Edge, while the latter are asset trees in the entire OU.
