Managing Metric Templates

A metric template summarizes the basic information and the extended information (such as metric identifier, name, query interval, aggregation method, and unit) of a metric associated with a specific object type. Metric templates can be applied to typical scenarios like synchronizing and sharing metric data. You can achieve the standardized synchronization and management of metric systems in different services and platforms by exporting and importing metric templates.

Prerequisites

  • You need to be assigned the required asset permission and operation permission, and a menu group containing the Metric Templates menu. If not assigned, contact the application administrator.

  • If you need to enable synchronization for a metric template to synchronize all the metrics in the template to EnOS Metric Management, Metric Management needs to be obtained, authorized, and enabled in the current OU.

Importing a Metric Template

  1. Select Business Templates > Metric Templates from the left navigation pane.

  2. Select the Public Metric Templates or Private Metric Templates tab according to the effective scope of the target metric template. For more information about the difference between public and private metric template, see Public/Private Metric Template.

  3. Click Import and choose one of the following methods to prepare the file to be imported:

    • If you need to share a metric template between different OUs, export the target metric template in the source OU.

    • If you need to create a metric template in the current OU, click Download in the pop-up window and enter the following information in the template file.
