Data Forwarding

To forward the connected data to a third-party system or platform using EnOS Edge, you need to select the forwarding model points and set the forwarding connections based on your actual needs.

EnOS Edge currently supports forwarding data to a third party, and supports the third party sending control commands to sub-devices using the following protocols:

  • IEC104
  • ModbusTCP

EnOS Edge cascading supports forwarding data to the parent Edge using the following protocols:

  • EdgeCascading
  • CrossNetGapCascading

Before You Start

Ensure that the Edge device is connected to the EnOS. For more information, see Connecting Edge Devices to EnOS.

Step 1: Create a Forwarding Template

Go to EnOS Edge > Templates > Forwarding Template and click New Template. For more information, see Forwarding Template.

Step 2: Configure a Forwarding Template

  1. Click edit of the template created before.

  2. Configure the following information on the “Edit Template” page:

    • Set the data forwarding types for the selected model points.
    • Calculate the coefficients and base values for the points to be forwarded, which will be used for data desensitization.

    Note

The sequence of forwarding points corresponds to the sequence that you add the model points. To modify the sequence, you can re-add the points online or export the forwarding point file and change the sequence.

For more information, see Forwarding Template.

Step 3: Add a Connection

  1. Go to Edge Management > Edge Details > Forwarding.
  2. Click the IEC104 or MODBUS or Edge Cascading tab according to your protocol.
  3. Add a connection for data forwarding.

Step 4: Add a Device

  1. Click the created connection to expand it and click New Device.
  2. In the “Add Device” page, select devices to be forwarded based on models and products, and the associated forwarding templates.
  3. Click Save.

Step 5: Edit the Device

  1. Click to expand the connection you just created. Click button_edit_gray in the device line.

  2. In the pop-up window, edit the sub-device number Index to change the offset or register address range based on the following automatic calculation method:

    • For the data forwarding using IEC104 protocol, EnOS Edge automatically calculates the offset for every type of the points according to the sub-device number and the associated forwarding templates.
    • For the data forwarding using Modbus protocol, EnOS Edge automatically generates the register address range of each function code for the sub-device according to the starting register address of each function code, the sub-device number and the associated forwarding templates.

    Note

The numbers are unique under the same forwarding connection.

Step 6: Publish

Click the Publish button at the bottom of the page to distribute the configuration information to the EnOS Edge device as a resource package.
