Synchronizing Asset Elements

Common Data Service supports paginating and sorting the real-time query results of attributes, measurement points, and metrics. To ensure query performance, Common Data Service can first synchronize attributes, measurement points, and metrics from the data sources by creating asset element synchronization tasks and then paginate and sort the real-time query results.

Prerequisites

You need to be assigned the required asset permission and operation permission, and a menu group containing the Asset Element Synchronization menu. If not assigned, contact the application administrator.

Procedure

  1. Select Administration > Asset Element Synchronization from the left navigation pane and click New.

  2. Click Add under Object Type, select an object type that the target asset elements belong to in the pop-up window, and click OK.

  3. Hover over Add under Asset Element Type, select the type of the target asset elements, and enter the following information.

    Field Required/Optional Description
Synchronization Frequency Required Specify the time interval for asset element synchronization. The default intervals to synchronize attributes, measurement points, and metrics are 10, 5, and 10 minutes respectively.
Is Enabled Required Specify whether to enable the task, which is set to False by default. To enable an asset element synchronization task, you first need to create and enable an asset synchronization task in the OU.
Email Recipients Optional Specify the recipients to receive email notifications when the synchronization task fails.
Added Attributes/Measurement Points/Metrics Optional Click Add Attributes/Measurement Points/Metrics to select the data to be synchronized.

  4. Click Submit.

Results

After the synchronization task is created, the system will synchronize the attribute, measurement point, and metric data to Common Data Service at the specified time interval. You can perform the following actions on the created task.

  • View the task logs: Click any field of the target task and select Expand under Task Log in the target asset element type to view the detailed task logs within a specific time period, including log ID, dispatch time, actual start/end time, operation duration/status, and runtime parameters (the attributes, measurement points, and metrics synchronized in the task).
  • Edit the task: Click Edit Edit of the target task.
  • Delete the task: Click Delete Delete of the target task. Deleted tasks cannot be restored.
