EnOS Edge 2.3 Release (2021/12/30) introduces the following new features and enhancements.
EnOS Edge Building Gateway Series¶
This release introduces EnOS Edge Building Gateway. It is used as the network control unit to connect various building devices and sub-systems. This BAS (buidling automation system) makes building device management efficient, easy, safe and stable.
EnOS Edge Building Gateway provides the following capabilities:
Connect to EnOS system for centralized management and control in Building Management System (BMS).
Optimize the running mode between the building sub-system and devices using EnOS AI and machine learning for lower energy consumption and a more comfortable and safer environment.
For more information, see EnOS Edge Building Gateway Series.
EnOS Edge Sensor Gateway Series¶
This release introduces EnOS Edge Sensor Gateway (Envision Digital IoT hardware box), a cost-effective mid-lightweight IoT gateway product series of EnOS Edge. It can be applied to many industries, including elevator, wind turbine, solar power, battery storage, distributed PV and microgrid.
EnOS Edge Sensor Gateway is committed to creating an integrated IoT industry solution from the edge to the cloud, which includes:
Professional softwares
Flexible hardwares
Dedicated sensors
Industry-specific enclosures (Optional)
EnOS Edge Sensor Gateway provides the following capabilities:
Collect sensor data quickly
Process data with an industry-specific algorithm
Predict, analyze and optimize data: With cloud applications, you can perform machine learning on the edge and train device models in the cloud
For more information, see EnOS Edge Sensor Gateway Series.
Connectivity Service¶
This release introduces the following new feature and enhancements for Connectivity Service.
Device Access Template¶
You can now use the device access template to:
Automatically split the original point table
Automatically create templates
Automatically calculate the offset
Bulk configure templates using the dynamic template
File Connection¶
This release introduces File Connection:
Use general protocols to pull and push files
Push the files as model point files to the cloud
EnOS Edge Scan APP (Preview)¶
This release introduces EnOS Edge Scan app for Android or iOS. For a lightweight distributed Edge Logger device access scenario, you can scan the QR code of the Edge Logger device using this app. It simplifies the workflow for device connectivity and facilitates the configuration of gateway and sub-devices.
You can use the mobile app to:
Automatically register Edge Logger and create Edge-Cloud connections
Automatically register sub-devices by importing device assets
Automatically create communication connection and access template
Configure LAN, WIFI, and 4G mode
Debug data
EnOS Management Console introduces the following new features to manage the data connected from the app:
Project Management module enables Edge delivery engineers to bulk import project asset information
Public Template module enables device manufacturers or domain experts to pre-configure access templates and connection information for the specific device type
License Management¶
This release introduces Edge License to better manage the process of applying and approving EnOS Edge service. Edge License enables you to activate the subscribed EnOS Edge service on an Edge device.
For more information, see License Management.
BTL Certification¶
In this release, EnOS Edge Gateway and EnOS Edge Extensive have been independently tested and have passed industry standard BACnet testing. For more information, see BTL Certification Program.
Edge Cascading¶
Edge Cascading now supports configuring more than 2 Edge cascading layers using different configuration tools. For more information, see Edge Cascading.
Edge Computing¶
Edge Computing now supports:
Optimize the architecture of stream computing and the single node or single pipeline computing capability. See Stream Computing.
Customize operators. See Supported StreamSets Operators.
Enrich the operator library to meet the needs of calculating and controlling data in the building scenario. See Rule Engine.
Alert Management¶
Alert Management now supports:
Configure alert rules for different models and points.
Use expressions to specify the alert trigger conditions.
For more information, see Alert Management.
Quality Rules¶
This release introduces Quality Rules. You can create a quality rule and define specific validation checks based on:
Timestamps threshold
Points refresh interval
Over-limit threshold
For more information, see Quality Rules.
Data Gap Backfill¶
Data Gap Backfill is now available for the following connections:
EnOS Edge - EnOS Edge
SCADA - EnOS Edge
Third-party SCADA - EnOS Edge
EnOS Edge - EnOS Cloud
EnOS Edge - Third-party SCADA
For example, if the connection between EnOS Edge and EnOS Cloud is interrupted, EnOS Edge can still collect data from sub-devices and save it to the local cache. The data cached locally will be transmitted again once the network connection is restored. For more information, see Data Gap Backfill.
Time Series Data Management (TSDB)¶
TSDB now supports:
Storage Policy: It provides efficient and stable storage management for time series data ingested from devices or historical data integrated from the offline message channel.
Data Insight: It generates data charts based on time range and device measurement points can be generated for the time series data stored in TSDB to improve the efficiency of data analysis.
For more information, see Time Series Data Management.
Data Subscription¶
Data subscription now supports visualized configuration. For more information, see Data Subscription.
Data Security¶
This release enhances security for data storage, transfer, and usage. For more information, see Edge Security.
Edge Container Platform¶
Edge Container Platform now supports deploying or updating containers by versions to improve efficiency and reduce Operation and Maintenance risks. For more information, see Container Platform.
Local Operation & Maintenance Tool¶
This release introduces the Local Operation & Maintenance Tool (Local O&M Tool). The tool empowers Edge delivery engineers to:
Query or download logs.
Upgrade product versions through a visualized interface.
Edit configuration.
Monitor indicator data.
Restart or shut down the Edge node.
