Registering Devices

Registering devices in registration groups enables you to reduce device configurations and manual entries for on-site onboarding for a more error-free and secured data transmission. After registering the devices, you can monitor their connectivity status, allocation status, view their information such as their allocated environment/OU, and perform operations such as export/import, reset allocation status, etc.

This section shows the steps to register a device.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have registered a personal or business account with EnOS to access the EnOS Management Console.
  • Ensure the account has all the access for Asset and Model, and full access for Device Management Service. For more information, see Policies, Roles, and Permissions.
  • Ensure that your OU has purchased the Device Provisioning Service application.

Procedure

  1. Select Device Provisioning Service > Registration Group Management from the left navigation pane.

  2. Locate the registration group that you wish to register devices for, and click View Details view.

  3. Click Device Information > Register Device.

  4. Fill in the information for Basic Information.

    • Registration Method
      • Manual Input: For registering single devices at one go. Manually fill in its device serial number (1 - 64 characters).
      • System Generated: For batch registering devices. Enter the number of devices (max 1000) to be generated by the registration group, and the system will generate the exportable serial no. and device QR codes for each device.

    • Description: Enter a description for the device(s). Max 512 characters.

    • Allocation Plan (Environment/OU): First select an environment to allocate the device to. Next select the OU from the list of OUs under the selected environment.
    • Time Zone/City: Select a time zone from the list.
    • Device Name: Enter a name for the master data. You can click Internationalization lang to enter customized names for different locales. 1 - 64 characters.

  6. Fill in the master data details, if any, and click Register.

Successfully registered device(s) will appear in the list under Device Information.
