Querying Metric Data

The derived metrics and compound metrics that have been configured with query mapping groups and published can be filtered by specified filters and displayed in a chart, which is convenient to quickly view and analyze data.

Prerequisites

Before you start, ensure the following:

  • The current account has been assigned a menu group containing Metric Insights. If not assigned, contact the application administrator.
  • Derived metrics to be viewed have been configured with query mapping groups and published.
  • Compound metrics to be viewed have been published.
  • Dimension tables have been configured and published.

Querying Multi-Valued Metrics

  1. Select Metric Insights in the left navigation bar and filter the following information in the filter box at the top of the page:
    • Metric Type: Select Multi-Valued.
    • Statistical Dimension: Select a configured and published dimension table.
    • Statistical Object: Select one or more objects in the form of “Primary Key Name(Primary Key)” of the current dimension table as statistics object(s).
    • Statistical Period: Select the statistical period corresponding to the multi-valued metric as the time granularity.
    • Time Range: Select the time range of the data to be viewed.
  2. In the metric list, select the multi-valued derived metrics and multi-valued compound metrics associated with the current Statistical Dimension and Statistical Period, and then click Query.
  3. On the right side of the page, view the metric data line chart for the statistical object, in which the horizontal axis is time and vertical axis is value.
  4. Select the fact table button table_icon in the upper left corner to view the data in the fact table.
  5. Select the line chart button chart_icon to switch back to the line chart for the metric.

Querying Single-Valued Metrics

  1. Select Metric Insights in the left navigation bar and filter the following information in the filter box at the top of the page:
    • Metric Type: Select Single-Valued.
    • Statistical Dimension: Select a configured and published dimension table.
    • Statistical Object: Select one or more objects in the form of “Primary Key Name(Primary Key)” of the current dimension table as statistics object(s).
  2. In the metric list, select the single-valued derived metric and single-valued compound metric associated with the current Statistical Dimension, and then click Query.
  3. On the right side of the page, view the metric data line chart for the statistical object, in which the horizontal axis is time and vertical axis is value.
  4. Click the fact table button table_icon in the upper left corner to view the data in the fact table.

Insighting Derived Metrics Quickly

You can query the value of derived metrics only after a query mapping group is configured for the derived metrics and published.

  1. Select Metric Library in the left navigation bar and go to the Derived Metric tab.
  2. Select Metric Insights insight_icon at the end of the target derived metric row to go to the Metric Insights page.
  3. Select one or more objects in the primary key column of the current dimension table in Statistical Objects.
  4. Select Query to view the metric data line chart for the statistical object, in which the horizontal axis is time and vertical axis is value.
  5. Select the fact table button table_icon in the upper left corner to view the data in the fact table.

Insighting Compound Metrics Quickly

The value of compound metrics can be queried only when the derived metrics associated with the compound metrics have values and the compound metrics are published.

  1. Select Metric Library, then go to the Compound Metricss tab.
  2. Select Metric Insights insight_icon at the end of the target compound metric row to go to the Metric Insights page.
